This maple was sitting on rock. Its top however had died
leaving only two branches. I wired up for a new top and used another branch for
a future main branch.
In 1992 I let the tree freely grow to
develop the top and two main branches and ensured the tree to be healthy. |

| In
1993, I drilled a hole just above the rock and added a second tree to create a
twin trunk style. At the same time, the main trunk was fattening and the side
branch was developing |

In 1995 I did not like the look of the twin trunk and
decided to cut it off. I then concentrated on developing this main tree by
heavy pinching the new leaves and shoots.
